Program Termination
The ASIP Coordinator and the Program Contact at the Smithsonian Institution reserve the right to revoke and cancel a placement at any time, if the student:
- Fails to adhere to program procedures
- Does not complete or submit required documents by deadlines
- Does not abide by the student code of conduct
- Reveals a significant negative change in an area(s) of relevance to the program (e.g., a significant drop in academic performance after nomination)
- Demonstrates behavior, prior to commencing or during the internship, that damages the special relationship between the Government of Alberta and the Smithsonian Institution
- Engages in activities that place his/her personal safety or that of others at risk
- Engages in activities or behavior that compromise the ability of the Program Administrators (ASIP Office or the Smithsonian Institution) to ensure successful completion of the internship
- Contravenes the Smithsonian Institution’s rules and regulations
