Hard to find workersBlair Lundy is a manager in the company's warehouse. In 2005, it was hard for him to find workers. Blair had an idea. He had one employee who was deaf. He decided to hire more people who were deaf. They were good employees. Needed more workersThe company grew and needed more workers. So Blair hired people with other disabilities. For example, some had problems moving around. Some had problems with their memory. Blair is very happy with these workers. Only one has quit. The jobs are great for the workers too. Lisa's storyLisa had a stroke when she was 10 years old. She still has problems with her balance and eyesight. Over the years, Lisa has had different jobs. Bosses often didn't understand her disabilities. They didn't value her work. She didn't make much money. Lisa's life changedIn 2005, Lisa got a job at Company's Coming. Her life changed. Now she packages cookbooks to mail to customers. Lisa has wonderful co-workers. She says, "I can tell anybody anything, and not get laughed at." Lisa says, "I've found the place where I belong." It is like a family. She doesn't plan to leave.
