Funding for Registered Apprentices
Registered apprentices in Alberta may be eligible for any of the following types of financial assistance while attending technical training:
- federal Employment Insurance (EI)
- apprenticeship and industry training scholarships
- general scholarships
- Tradesperson’s Tools Deduction
- Apprenticeship Incentive Grant
- Apprenticeship Completion Grant
Apprentices with financial need may also be eligible for assistance through the Skills Investment Program to cover tuition, books and living expenses incurred while attending the technical training portion of their apprenticeship.
