Funding and Supports to Institutions

Publicly funded post-secondary institutions are governed under the authority of the Post-Secondary Learning Act. The following types of funding may be provided to these institutions, as determined by criteria such as their mandate and status as a public or independent institution:

Note, these institutions may also generate revenue from
  • tuition and other student fees
  • the operation of ancillary services
  • sponsored research funding from provincial and federal agencies and private industry
  • investments and donations
