Alberta Gearing up for WorldSkills Calgary 2009

Like the Provincial and National Skills Competition, WorldSkills Calgary 2009 will feature about 1,000 students from across the world competing in trades and technologies such as baking, carpentry, and website development. On May 26, Premier Ed Stelmach announced $24 million, to date, in funding to help organize and stage the 40th WorldSkills Competition in 2009. In addition, WorldSkills Calgary 2009 introduced Mike Holmes, Canada's Most Trusted Contractor, as their Honorary Spokesperson. "I am very pleased to partner with WorldSkills Calgary 2009," said Holmes. “If you’re going to do something, do it right the first time. My motto is 'Make it Right,' which matches very nicely with the mission and values of WorldSkills Calgary 2009."
