SoLo Gi Low Glycemic Nutrition Bars

SoloIn 2005, Solo GI Nutrition Inc. launched the first clinically-validated low glycemic index (GI) nutrition bar line of products.

These bars were designed to counter the fading low-carb food fad by focusing on the slow digestion of carbohydrates and preventing the spiking and then crashing of the body's blood sugar. Offering flavours such as Peanut Power, Berry Bliss and Mint Mania, the bar gained successful entry into the large United States nutritional market winning the prestigious Golden Egg Award for "The Most Innovative New Product."

Solo GI Nutrition Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of New Era Nutrition, an Edmonton-based company specializing in nutritional foods. New Era's first product, developed as a joint venture with scientists and nutritionists from the University of Alberta Hospital, was a balanced nutrition bar, an alternative to the Power Bar then produced and marketed in the United States. New Era fine-tuned the bar with the National Research Council and the Leduc Food Processing Centre and went on to develop other successful products for such industry leaders as Balance Bar, Mannatech and Rexall Sundown.
