Youth Technopreneurship Program at WorldSkills Calgary 2009
YTP Featured at Alberta House - September 2 - 5
YTP will be featured in the Innovating Pod at Alberta House – an important destination for visitors to the International WorldSkills Competition in Calgary. Alberta House is expected to attract thousands of visitors each day who can learn more about the exciting program which helps budding entrepreneurs to develop business cases for their new products. Through YTP, business plan contests will take place this fall across Alberta at participating post-secondary institutions and in regional communities. High school graduates can receive up to $10,000 and College/University students and graduates can receive up to $20,000 along with supports to help grow their business ideas.Alberta Young Innovators
Some of the most innovative ideas for new products involving technology come from the creative minds of young Albertans. More and more young entrepreneurs across our province are using technology to create exciting new products for the marketplace. Age isn’t a barrier for these young innovators who are helping to build the next generation economy in Alberta – one that’s diverse and knowledge based. The innovators below are only a few examples of the young technology entpreneurs in Alberta and the reason why YTP was developed. About WorldSkills Calgary 2009
WorldSkills is an international competition showcasing young professionals in trades and technology-related careers. Held every two years, the competition brings hundreds of competitors (17 - 22 years of age) accompanied by their teachers and trainers together from around the world to compete in various trades and technology skills categories.
