Alberta's Action Plan
Bringing Technology to Market
- ...speed to market
Alberta-born Innovations
Did You Know?
Alberta may soon use CO2 to enhance production from mature conventional oil basins or permanently store the CO2 in deep saline aquifers? This would reduce CO2 emissions into the atmosphere and reduce the advancement of global warming. Several field pilots are underway to test the underground storage and/or use of carbon dioxide from large industrial plants.
An Entrepreneur's Story
About the Plan...
Alberta is building on the success of its economy and its flourishing high-tech sector. Building and growing knowledge-based companies is important to Alberta's ongoing success in the new global economy.
Our Action Plan will assist Alberta entrepreneurs in getting more of their ideas off the research bench and into consumers' hands. It builds on our strength in the advanced technology sectors of clean energy, information and communications technology, life sciences and nanotechnology with a wide range of coordinated actions. From tax credits to venture capital, the actions provide a supportive environment for companies to grow and become successful in world markets. It's a package that's good for Alberta businesses and good for investors and includes nine actions within four theme areas.
